for the 21st Century is an independent business-industry
networking group established by engineer Nattalia Lea in 2009. Our mission is to facilitate sustainable industrial
development by providing a community by which business and industry
leaders, professionals, engineers and entrepreneurs can learn, share
and challenge each other. By working together collaboratively,

Sustainable Industrial
Development for the 21st Century is the vision of engineer,
journalist/author and entrepreneur, Nattalia Lea, P.Eng., LEED ® AP.
Prior to starting up SID21C.com; Ms. Lea held Health Safety Environment
and Regulatory Lead Engineer/Advisor positions on mega-oilsands projects
and as a Project Engineer on conventional oil and gas
projects for both the operating and engineering, procurement and construction
companies. She has also worked for environmental and infrastructure
engineering consulting companies and Environment Canada. Between
2003-2004, she served on the Steering Committee for the Alberta Chapter
of the Canada Green Building Council and in 2008, received the Leadership
in Energy and Environment (LEED ® AP) professional accreditation.
Ms. Lea has contributed extensively to numerous
publications world-wide including The Globe and Mail,
The Financial Post, Canadian Consulting Engineer, Oilweek, Canadian
Business and Alberta Construction
magazine. She has been a guest on CBC Newsworld and quoted
in Fortune magazine.
Between 1996 to 1999, she co-founded and ran not-for-profit organization,
High-Tech Women for the 21st Century. In 1997, she
was nominated for inclusion in The Who’s Who of Canadian Women
and is a Canadian professional of The Engineering Institute of Canada.
Ms. Lea is a graduate
from the University of British Columbia in Bio-Resources Engineering.
